The Rialto Venue Rules

We want every event at the Rialto to be safe, enjoyable, and successful. Renters are responsible for making sure their guests, vendors, caterers, entertainers, and other event participants follow these rules.

Alcohol & Bar Service

No outside alcohol is permitted at the Rialto. All alcoholic beverages must be provided and served through the Rialto unless specifically authorized in writing in advance.

Only authorized Rialto staff are permitted behind any bar or in bar service areas. Guests, renters, caterers, vendors, and other event participants may not enter behind the bars or serve themselves.

Violation of our alcohol or bar policies may result in the immediate shutdown of the event without refund.

Decorations

Decorations are welcome, but they may not damage the building, furnishings, fixtures, or equipment.

Nothing may be hung from or attached to our light fixtures, chandeliers, ceiling fixtures, sprinkler heads, fire equipment, or other building systems.

Do not use nails, screws, staples, permanent adhesives, or other materials that could damage walls, floors, doors, woodwork, or other surfaces.

Confetti, glitter, and similar materials that are difficult to clean up are not permitted.

Open flames, candles, fireworks, sparklers, smoke-producing devices, and similar items are not permitted unless specifically approved by the Rialto in advance.

Please ask us before installing any large, suspended, electrical, or unusual decorations.

Vendors & Caterers

Renters must provide the Rialto with the name and contact information for caterers, DJs, bands, entertainment companies, decorators, rental companies, and other vendors working at the event.

Vendors must follow Rialto rules and staff instructions while on the property. The renter is responsible for making sure their vendors understand these requirements.

Vendor setup and removal must take place during the renter's approved access period unless other arrangements have been made in advance.

Event Insurance

Required event insurance must be provided to the Rialto before the event. Failure to provide required insurance may result in the event being delayed or canceled.

Setup & Cleanup

Setup and cleanup must occur within your contracted rental period unless other arrangements have been approved in advance.

Renters and their vendors are responsible for removing personal belongings, decorations, equipment, and other items brought into the venue.

At the end of the event, renters are responsible for gathering all trash and moving the provided trash cans to the designated area by the garage door.

If the kitchen is used, it must be left clean and ready for the next event. Floors must be swept, tables and work surfaces cleaned off, and sinks emptied and cleaned.

Please leave the venue in the condition in which you found it. Additional cleaning, excessive trash, or damage may result in additional charges.

Property & Damage

The renter is responsible for damage caused by the renter, their guests, vendors, contractors, or anyone attending or working at the event on the renter’s behalf. This does not include Rialto staff or contractors hired directly by the Rialto.

Please do not move, disconnect, modify, or operate Rialto equipment, furnishings, lighting, sound equipment, thermostats, electrical systems, or other building systems without permission from Rialto staff.

If something needs to be moved, adjusted, or changed, please ask a Rialto staff member.

Guest Conduct

Renters are responsible for the conduct of their guests.

Guests must follow instructions from Rialto staff and may not engage in unsafe, destructive, threatening, or disruptive behavior.

Children must be appropriately supervised by a responsible adult.

The Rialto reserves the right to require any individual who is creating a safety concern, damaging property, violating venue rules, or significantly disrupting an event to leave the property.

Smoking & Vaping

Smoking and vaping are not permitted inside the Rialto. Guests must use designated outdoor areas and properly dispose of smoking materials.

Fire & Life Safety

Emergency exits, exit doors, hallways, fire extinguishers, sprinkler equipment, and other safety equipment must remain accessible at all times.

Tables, decorations, equipment, vendor displays, and other items may not block exits or required walkways.

Restricted Areas

Guests and vendors may only enter areas of the Rialto that are included in the event rental or specifically authorized by Rialto staff.

Staff-only, storage, mechanical, bar service, and other restricted areas are off limits unless accompanied or authorized by Rialto staff.

Kitchen Access

The kitchen is a restricted area and may only be used by authorized renters, caterers, vendors, and other individuals who have a legitimate need to be in the kitchen as part of the event. Event guests should not enter or congregate in the kitchen.

The exterior kitchen door is for use by authorized individuals accessing the kitchen and should not be used as a general guest entrance or exit.

The kitchen door must remain closed and locked during the event except when being used by authorized individuals for necessary event-related access.

For safety and security, renters and vendors should not prop open or otherwise prevent the kitchen door from locking.

Event Times & End of Event

Music and entertainment must end no later than 11:00 PM on Friday and Saturday nights and 10:00 PM on Sunday through Thursday nights, unless otherwise approved by the Rialto in advance.

Last call for bar service will be announced approximately 30 minutes before the scheduled conclusion of the event. Rialto staff may end alcohol service earlier when necessary for safety, compliance, or other circumstances.

Events must conclude at the agreed-upon time. Guests should depart promptly at the conclusion of the event so cleanup can be completed.

All cleanup must be completed and the venue vacated by midnight, unless other arrangements have been approved by the Rialto in advance.

Renters and vendors are responsible for removing decorations, equipment, personal belongings, and other event-related items within the approved rental period.

Questions? Ask Us First.

Every event is a little different. If you're planning something and aren't sure whether it's allowed, please contact the Rialto before your event.

We're happy to work with you ahead of time. It's much easier to answer a question before the event than to make someone change or remove something on the day of the event.

These Venue Rules are intended as a helpful summary and do not replace or modify the terms of your Event Space Rental Agreement. If there is a conflict between these rules and your signed agreement, the signed agreement controls.
